No, I’m not moving (…yet). But I helped a friend move today. Actually, I helped a friend move some things into the garage of his future wife’s future house (they’re not closing until just before the 11th), and in 2 weeks I’m likely helping him move the stuff from the garage into the house. I’m not a big fan of helping people move, because I’m not a big fan of asking people to break their backs to help me move – I plan for movers, these days putting money aside for just that purpose. Anyway moving makes me think of past moving. So, as it’s been a few days since my last post, I thought I’d share with you my moving history. I know, you’re excited.

You know how they say that someone’s handwriting tells you something about them? Well, how about how someone writes out their phone number? I was just going through and updating my contacts, some of whom are on Facebook, and I realized how many different ways there are to write a phone number:

This is how I write phone numbers, the “proper” method as I like to call it:
(555) 123-4567

The no separation method:
5551234567

The spaces for separation method:
555 123 4567

The all dashes method:
555-123-4567

The periods method:
555.123.4567

And not to confuse things, but don’t forget those that add the 1 before the area code (and not to mention people outside of the US who have a whole slew of numbers we don’t want to mess with).

That’s pretty much the lot of them – which kind of person are you?

There are essentially two types of flourishes within a magic trick (and although this could apply to coins and other things, I’m being specific to card magic).  The first is something that is obvious to the audience.  An example of this is a card spread or a fan of cards.  The second is something that isn’t really obvious at all.  An example of this would be a count that might hide or miscount the cards.

Technically, this is a re-launch, as I’ve made a couple of previous attempts to launch this blog/site. But this is it, “the one”, the actual launch that will take.

So welcome to those that have joined in. If I’ve left up the previous posts, feel free to view the videos contained in them. As I go through the process of re-creating the videos to make them more consistent, add titles and such, I’ll be re-posting with an actual description, etc. Additionally, I’ll also be posting explanations for download in the store part of the site.

For now, bookmark the site, link me to all your favorite bookmarking sites, check out the links, and enjoy. If you follow me on Twitter, you’ll get updates whenever I post.
